When and where will you find us?

Join us in The Explorium in the Atrium at The Forum, Norwich on Monday 19th February 2024.

The Festival’s theme on that day will be ‘Tech, Innovation and Engineering’.

EAFA will provide all materials and instructions and with staff on-hand to guide you to make your own animation device to take away with you.

With the half-term holiday coinciding with the dates for the Festival this is a perfect creative activity for children and families who love science and technology.

We will also be screening tech-themed archive films at the stand.

What is a Zoetrope and how does it operate?

Every film or TV show you’ve ever watched is made of individual frames speeding by in quick succession.  The zoetrope is an early version of that.  It is an animation device that pre-dates cinema from the Victorian era.

Making a zoetrope is a fun activity that teaches about animation, optics and the concept of persistence of vision.
