A blacksmith's working day

This film begins with early morning shots of St. Osyth. There is a static shot of a castle type building. Shots of quite streets precede shots of the exterior of H.R. Griggs, blacksmiths. Inside the blacksmith shows the camera rods of metal. He selects one, places it into a vice and then cuts it to size. At the furnace, the blacksmith pumps the bellows to increase the temperature of the fire. He hammers the heated metal into a horse shoe shape. Throughout this there are cut away shots to the fire and the bellows. The blacksmith is talking as he works. He removes the old show from a horse's hoof and trims the hoof. He heats the shoe, adjusts the shape and then applies the hot shoe to the horse's hoof. He nails it into place. The horse is led out onto a now busy street.
