A record of various events in Norwich and Lowestoft in the late 1930s filmed by local photographer and amateur film maker, Mr. E.C. Le Grice.

A parade led by soldiers and armoured personnel carriers: men are dressed as soldiers and sailors from the past. Also represented are lifeboat men, Norwich Lads Club, the Norwich Snapdragon, horse-drawn floats and war veterans. Armistice Day 1938: a procession with the Mayor laying a wreath at the memorial above the marketplace. Parts of City Hall are visible behind a parade of dignitaries. Empire Day in the schools: young children dressed as pixies, a small group in various national costumes, one is dressed as Britannia. The deputy lord mayor, Mr Witard, is presented with a bouquet and there is dancing round the maypole. Visit of the Lord Mayor of London: a train arrives at Thorpe station – the Lord Mayor leaves the station in procession. The party tour the showground site. HRH Duchess of Kent visits Lowestoft: the Duchess receives a bouquet of flowers and awards medals to soldiers.
